Abstract
A simple, rapid and cheap procedure for the determination of seven PAH in potable water is presented. The samples are extracted by hexane and the present PAH are analyzed by synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy. It is shown that the specific, Δλ of the spectra are 125 nm for anthracene, 95 nm for benzo (a) anthracene and chrysene, 110 nm for benzo (a) pyrene, 130 nm for fluoranthene, 40 nm for fluorene and 60 nm for pyrene. The peaks of the spectra are at 251, 288, 266, 294, 340, 263, and 332 respectively.
